Born in Mexico, reared in Canada and educated in Texas, Octavio meets the definition of a well-traveled man. He has been exposed to many ideas and cultures that have formed the business man he is today. His easy way with people of all ages and means attests to his diversity of experiences.

With a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and a Master in Business Administration conferred simultaneously from Texas A and M and ITESM (Mexico), Octavio is well-positioned to make an impact in his chosen city of Fernandina Beach. In the years he has been a resident he’s done more than most for various charities and causes. He has raised funds for the local animal shelters and grooms the potential adoptees for free. He makes them clean and cute for their close-ups. He has worked closely with local businesses such as Starbucks to set-up raffles to benefit homeless animals. When told the local shelter’s dryer had broken, he got a donation from one of his clients to have it replaced immediately. For his tireless work on behalf of abandoned animals, he has been singled out by local politicians and media but the limelight is not his goal.

Octavio is well known in the show world. At the Eukanuba Show in December of 2011 and 2012, Tavo managed the grooming area for the entire show. At the Westminster show in New York City in 2013, he owned and groomed the first place schnauzer.
